Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro debuts as new stylish smartwatch packed full of features

Xiaomi has launched the Smart Band 8 Pro as part of today's mammoth launch event. For reference, the company also presented the Pad 6 Max, the Redmi K60 Ultra and the MIX Fold 3, which we have covered separately. Currently, Xiaomi has only launched the Smart Band 8 Pro in China and has not commented on a global release.

With that being said, Xiaomi eventually introduced an international version of its predecessor, so there is nothing to say that will not happen again with the Smart Band 8 Pro later this year. Regardless, the Smart Band 8 Pro has a 1.74-inch AMOLED display with a 336 PPI pixel density, 600 nits brightness and a 60 Hz refresh rate. According to Xiaomi, it has paired the large display with a 290 mAh battery that delivers up to a fortnight of battery life.

Additionally, the Smart Band 8 Pro supports GNSS location services, has a new dual-channel for health monitoring and NFC for making payments with supported services. Moreover, the smartwatch comes pre-loaded with over 150 sports modes, 100 watch faces and Xiaomi's proprietary voice assistant service. At launch, the Smart Band 8 Pro starts at CNY 399 (~US$55) with silicone watch bands. Alternatively, Xiaomi offers an SKU with a leather watch band for CNY 449 (~US$62).
